📅 Dog Age Calculator
How old is your dog in human years? The "multiply by 7" rule is a myth. Dogs age much faster in their first two years, and larger breeds age quicker than smaller ones. Use our calculator based on size and weight for an accurate conversion.

How Do Dog Years Actually Work?
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the real formula for calculating dog years to human years is far more nuanced than multiplying by seven:
- First Year: The first year of a medium-sized dog's life equals about 15 human years. This is because puppies grow rapidly and mature quickly.
- Second Year: The second year equals about nine human years, bringing a 2-year-old dog to roughly 24 human years.
- After Year 2: Each additional year is calculated differently based on the dog's size and breed weight. Larger breeds age at a faster rate after maturity.
